Nursing care products “Lifestyle Smell Sensor”

Health and well-being are essential for all people to lead a minimally happy life. It is very important to protect the dignity of each individual during nursing care. Excretion care is one of the most sensitive issues. It is considered to be mentally stressful for the care recipient to call out to the caregiver every time he or she defecates. Therefore, Living Robot Inc. has developed a nursing care product called “Smell Sensor” so that everyone can live with comfort and peace of mind. The “Smell Sensor” is capable of detecting defecation (or signs of it) quickly. This is expected to reduce the burden on both the patient and the caregiver. By developing and providing the Smell Sensor, we are creating a system that enables people who need nursing care to receive appropriate treatment, thereby contributing to the achievement of Goal 3: “Good Health and Well-Being”.

In addition, there is a problem of a shortage of nursing care workers in Japan. One of the ways to solve this problem is to ease the workload in the field. By using technology, we can expect to create an environment where it is easier for workers to work, for example, by increasing productivity and getting more results in less time. The “leeway” gained through the use of equipment can also reduce the mental stress of caregivers and lead to a better environment in the field.

No one can accurately predict the possibility of injury or illness, or when they will need care. We believe that creating an environment that allows caregivers to work more efficiently and easily is not only important for the peace of mind of both the caregiver and the cared-for, but also for the future of all living people. By providing nursing care products, Living Robotic Inc. contributes to the realization of Goal 8, “Decent Work and Economic Growth” by improving the economic effect of introducing equipment and the working environment of workers.
